I've lived in both Florida and North Carolina. It's a hard choice! They're both beautiful, and both have their own special character. But if I had to choose, I'd pick ... North Carolina! It has a beach, even if it IS on the Atlantic instead of the Gulf. It has awesome pine forests, and the tie-breaker: the Blue Ridge Mountains. Florida is flat as a pancake, and after living there for two years, I was crying for a view! It rains buckets every day in the summer at 1:10 pm. Never mind the hurricanes and swamps. The water smells like sulfur springs. It's a great place to visit, and not very far from North Carolina! But I wouldn't want to live there anymore. If you do visit, try the central west coast, around Sarasota. Pure white sands! Florida is a gorgeous vacation spot; North Carolina is home.

The quality of life is so much better in NC than FL. Nicer people and a slower pace too. You'll get 4 seasons there instaed of FL's usual 2 seasons ( rainy season and scorching hot summer season) yuck.If you need a lot of stimulation FL is the place to be.If you want to actually make friends and have a decent life NC's the way to go.FL has a hard time keeping it's residents in one area due to the constantly changing demographics of different areas.People move every couple of yrs or so.

It depends on what part of Florida. I love the central west coast. I used to live in Bradenton but it has gone down hill. I love Sarasota. I dont know I just love it there. Good luck.
Anywhere you go there are good parts and bad. The only thing about Florida is there is alot to do. If its not for work what are you going to do in NC... Yawn....

NC is great. Obviously some areas are going to be better than others, just like in any state. We have four true seasons, unlike FL. We have nice beaches AND mountians. In general, the people here are friendly, smart, and fun.

NC is defiantly a nicer place to live. but wait for a 90 day period and see if he is looking around while waiting for you. you can tell, when he tells you he is busy one weekend or another. play the game woman

north carolina is better if you're a mountain girl...
there's TONS of outdoor things to do if you're into it.... kayaking, rafting, hiking, biking, caving, backpacking...
don't forget the outter banks!!.. you have the wonderful beaches there....
if you're a city gal, i'd suggest staying south since people tend to be a little more tolerant than the local north carolinians...
