molasses pours very slowly and in January it is cold so I guess that makes it pour slower.

It means someone is very slow since January is a c-c-cold month and molasses is very dense even in a warm room, but moreso in a cold one. Like the Heinz catsup commercial...remember? It also is an expression used by people who are impatient with the speed of someone's performance.

Molasses are even slower to pour when they are cold, so its goes like its in slow motion and the person is slow

Molasses, like honey or treacle, thickens when it gets colder so it pours less easily. Molasses pour very slowly in January.
