Actually, beyond the obvious answers, you could do anything. Being a dance major means a college schedule that is much more packed than the typical college student's because you will be spending so many more hours in the studio and in rehearsal. Therefore, dance majors learn how to be great time managers. They also get classes in stage production and choreography, which give dance students experience in organizing every aspect of a production from start to finish. They must be creative and figure out how to turn a concept into a reality - from costume ideas, props, publicity, etc. These skills are transferrable to any job where you have to make something happen out of nothing by researching where you are going to get the necessary materials.

Dancers also must become experts at learning how to work cooperatively. They need to become master politicians because they must maintain good ties with their collegues throughout their entire careers, no matter where they go, because dance is a small world. Dancers must be self-driven, mature, and good at taking care of their health, so they are amazing workers in any situation. For good or bad, they are often perfectionists. You will often find them to be among the top students in any school.

My sister majored in dance years ago. New York City was what she hoped for but there was too much competition there.
She went to Las Vegas, and found much more opportunity there. She was a member of the cast for Sigfried & Roy until Roys accident. She's retired now, opting for motherhood.

-Be a teacher; College, High School, Conservatory, community.
-Join a dance company and work your way up to being the prima ballerina.
-Audition for the "Stomp" traveling show, or any musical that's dance-heavy (think Susan Stroman's "Contact")
-Be a choreographer for plays, movies, musicals, and tv shows.

Or, and this should be only a last LAST option, throw on a sparkly bikini and take Vegas for all it's worth!

Teach dance for children or teach adults for exercise. Teach dancers for the professional stage or dance yourself professionally. There seems to be a renewed interest in dancing currently. I love it!
