hmmm not a lot of answers. Which is proof that everybody's on Yahoo or Wikipedia cause they've never been to a library!

No. Our library is doing a lot of things besides offering books. They have videos, music, computer programs, books on tape. They even have dozens of hand puppets.

"They got the library at Alexandria; they're not getting mine!" (seen on a button worn by a bibliomaniac.)

Where will I go, when my computer connection crashes for good, and I need to go online?

I can't AFFORD to buy all the books I want....and electronic doodads to download text may be nice, but they simply can't replace the fun of hardcopy in the hands. (Have you ever tried to read an e-book in the bathtub?)

Nothing so nice on a rainy day, as to wander up and down the open stacks, looking for interesting reads....and then load up the library card!

It's hard to imagine libraries no longer existing. Unless they invent a method of universal acces to every single published book and publication on earth.

No, but they will be different then the libraries of yesteryear. Technology isn't going away and the libraries are in the forefront of information innovatations.
