If intelligent people are so smart how come they make just as many bad decisions as people who don't have as high an I.Q. Intelligence is mainly the ability to learn and wisdom is the ability to make good decisions.

Wisdom...it will even serve the under educated and unknowledgeable. Knowledge will attempt to supercede wisdom because we tend to think knowledge is the best thing to have and will not steer us incorrectly. Knowledge will blind you with PRIDE and affect your wisdom. You really need some of both, and in my opinion, MORE of wisdom. Wisdom will serve you no matter what.

Wisdom is knowledge and the application of knowledge.

Wisdom is an integrated part of Intelligence. You can't have a classical form of intelligence without wisdom.

However, if you mean intelligence in terms of IQ, IQ is more important than wisdom to a point. I would say beyond IQ 130-140 IQ becomes irrelevant; wisdom is more important then.

IQ beyond 140 is essentially test smarts and has no real world correlation of any real value. However, most people with very high IQ's are also very wise at the same time...don't forget about this.

There are very few high IQ people that are not wise. Just because you get good grades in school does not mean your IQ is high. It only takes some IQ of 100-105 to grasp university level topics; what grade you get has more to do with how hard you try.

Intelligence and wisdom go hand in hand, but unfortunately not at the same time in life. Your born with intelligence, you hope to gain wisdom as you grow older and experience life longer.

Wisdom I suppose. Formal education has very little to do with anything really other than to make polite conversation in the civilized world. With age comes wisdom and that's why old people laugh at youths such as myself...they've been there and done that. Don't know if that rant made scense or not...

Education is knowledge. Intelligence is using already possessed knowledge to create solutions and more knowledge. Wisdom might be knowing how to effectively use your knowledge.

Wisdom would help you get by in life a bit better than intelligence, and more than education as well.

I think wisdom is a much more valuable trait. Intelligence comes with work, but wisdom is intellect passed over time and experience. It's enhanced.

Wisdom is a talent, and not every smart person has it. Smart people who are wise are lucky that they have superior intelligence but they are really just lucky, and if they are wise they will appreciate that they are lucky enough to be smart. In order to be wise you need to be somewhat intelligent, or else your brain will be incapicated for the wisdom and you wouldn't even think of such things. But I can TELL, I can just tell that YOU are wise. =)
