Ico is a great adventure/puzzle game. Shadow of the Collosus is made by the same people and is very popular, though I've not played it.

If you've never played Resident Evil 4, I would definitely pick that up. Metal Gear Solid 3 is a damn good game, too. A lot of people consider God of War to be a must-play, and the recently-released Okami is already being called a classic.

For survival/horror type games, Silent Hill 2 is in my opinion as good as it has ever been (in terms of storyline). SH3 and 4 are good games as well.

If you want something unique, I would STRONGLY suggest the Katamari Damacy games. And of course, if you're into that type of game, the GTA games are all great picks.

EDIT: And I'll have to agree with the person below, Dragon Quest VIII is magnificent.

It depends on what you like. I haven't looked into any "girly" games so I wouldn't really know what you'd like, lol ;) Try the GTA series if you want to experience life as a gangster. Try Fight Night if ya just wanna let the anger out and hit somebody. Try Ratchek and Clank, i heard thats a fun game. Last but not least, browse through www.gamespot.com 's Ps2 section, they have the top-rated games section as well. Good Luck to you!

If you like RPGs, Final Fantasy X and Dark Cloud 2. For Action/Adventure, any of the Ratchet and Clank games. For A little gorier action, God of War and resident Evil 4 are kickass!

Civilisation 2 - It is for PS1 but it is an easy to pick up but really hard to put down. It is a God simulation.

OR

Mr Driller also a PS1 game make you way from the top of the screen to the bottom by popping coloured squares. I became obsessed with this game when I was pregnant. Still love it.

I've been deployed to Iraq for almost a year now and can't get enough of ESPN's Fight Night. Other good games that don't seem to get old are Madden Football and Tiger Wood's Golf.

Any of the Final Fantasy games but if you like RPG's then you really should try Dragon Quest VIII. It is an AWSOME game and is good value for your money. Just my two cents.
