It happened to my mother 3 times and on the 3rd time they did surgery to make the lung stay up no matter what. They roughed up the inside of the lung sac to make sure the lung stuck to it. She had something called blibs which are little air bubbles that burst and cause the lung to collapse. The surgeon says anyone can be born with them and they can pop and cause the lung to collapse at any time. Usually after stressfull events.
It was a very scary ordeal for everyone, except my mom, she didn't even seem to worry about it other than the bad pain she had.

It can happen especially to tall people and yound people are most likely to get it. If they are healthy and it is a small collapse they will be ok. If they are older and its a large collapse they may need to go to the hospital for a while. Good luck
