I bought a CDI recently and it was made in taiwan or somewhere and it didn't come with english instructions or any instructions whatsoever (i'm here in the philippines) the CDI has 4 switches you can toggle up or down..

It's an acronym for Dual In-line Package (DIP), a type of chip housed in a rectangular casing with two rows of connection pins on either side.
In lay-mans terms - it's an externally programmable micro chip.

You either need the directions to program it, or go the trial and error route.
