how do you think psychology compares to physics, chemistry, math, and other"pure" sciences? would you describe psychology as a soft science? explain your answer.

Unfortunately, I would have to classify present day psychology as a "soft science". (Have you met a grad student yet???!)

There is no definition of what is a healthy, sane person -- it's all relative to the "norms" of the culture that one is in! How is it, that what used to be considered "deviant" behavior, is currently accepted as "a chosen life-style"?!

There is a measure, outside of opinion, and the current "norms" as to what a healthy, sane person is -- but you won't find it in "psychology".

I think that it is definitely a science that is often over-looked. There are so many different areas of psych! Some areas do deal with numbers and data. And it can be just as difficult as well....because there are not always clear answers to human behavior......

All of those other sciences you have said rely heavily on numbers.
