Did you mean to post this in family and relationships?

Not everyone gets shot by a family member or partner, but it does happen. A little.

If you mean shots from a medical practitioner, it is quite common in the hospital.

This one time after a car wreck, I had so many shots there, they ran out of room for more shots. Nurse Wratched injected me in the quadricep. That hurt for months, and still would occasionally hurt for several years.

Give a few more details, like what kind of shot and doctor/patient genders, etc. then we might be able to give you a better answer. But no, it is not real common for a doctor to give someone over the age of 2 a shot in the butt unless the shot manufacturer calls for it to be done in the fleshy part of the buttock.

Depends on what you have. I had one once for a throat infection...it hurt like a mother f'er..but let me tell you it cured me within an hour (although to date it's the worst pain I'd ever felt, and only the first time I can remember getting a shot in the butt) mostly they are given in the arms.
