does anyone else think a big, full size muscle car(impala, etc.) with a cummins 5.9 and twin turbo's would be cool? would you go with an electronic or mechanical diesel ?

I've been considering the same thing. The diesel will give fantastic low end torque, but run out of power at the high end. (very narrow power band in a diesel) You'll want some tall gears if you want a high cruise speed. Electronic diesels are the way to go. Better engine response and better fuel mileage. If you have the cash, take a look at Cat's small V-8s. (found in many city delivery trucks.) About the same size and weight as a large block V-8 gas engine with 2-3 times the torque.

Well Audi has the R10 diesel that won the 24 hour race at Le Mans
and also took the American Le Mans series title.

Can't wait until they put a TDI into an Audi A3 and ship it over here!
