If by divinity you mean spiritual then the most important quality of spirituality is eternality, the nature of being eternal -- no beginning and no end. This quality is clearly antithetic to the material sphere where everything has a beginning and an end. We are so much conditioned by material conceptions that some people even ascribe materiality to God and wonder who or what created God?

Religions will differ on their concepts of divinity, but monotheistic religions agree that God is all-knowing, all powerful, and all benevolent. This concept however is logically impossible. God cannot know what it is like to enjoy running a criminal enterprise, therefore he has limits on what he can know. Also if God were all those things, there would not be any non believers, since he would want you to be saved, and would have the power to convince you to follow his path to salvation! As for the first part of your question, the most important characteristic of divinity: Nonexistence.
