for me, its the statue of liberty, just because of what it stands for.
america has been called the great melting pot, thats because we have citizens from so many different races, religions and, social groups. to me, this is what makes us so resiliant and, strong, our diversity. no matter what problems or, challenges come our way, someone here has already seen it. we dont get surprised that often and, when we do, we adjust and, move on.

A picture of the US Constitution. Great law of land--protects rights, freedoms of people. Read first 10 amendments, and think what it covers---discuss.
Good luck in creating your OWN essay homework. I'm sure you'll be able to pull your own thoughts together, and put them down on paper, once you've gotten a few little insights and perspectives from others. But I do hope this helps you out a bit.

Hi, Kwadwo,
My favorite symbol, is the American Bald Eagle. It has the bearing of a noble spirit; it defends its territory, and, since it soars high in the clear blue, it has vision.
"Without [leaders who have] vision, the people perish" (sorry, don't have the reference -- the Old Testament, somewhere)
