i dont live anywhere near hawaii. i will probably never have a chance to go ..i dont' travel ever. i live in usa mainland but i wonder about hawaii..how is it there? What about the poberty level? and are the rich people generally white ?

Yeah, we have some crime but it's fairly slow. Mostly vice crimes that involve nonviolent consenting adults who enjoy partying with illegal drugs.
Not a lot of gang violence though. I always feel safe. If you watch Dog... Most of the people are in trouble for drugs, not murder or anything violent.

I've lived in Hawaii all my life, you're right about one thing, yes the rich people are mostly white and from the mainland. But just like any other state Hawaii has it's bad neighborhoods, most of the fugitives caught on the Bounty Hunter are from those parts of the island, other than that it's a great place to live, I'll probably never leave the islands.

I'm a born and raised hawaii resident. The crime here is just like on the mainland, except a good deal of the crime here has to do with crystal meth. That's the main problem here. Almost everyone arrested on Dog the Bounty Hunter is a Meth addict.

According to the 2005 American Community Survey from the U.S. Census Bureau, 7.7% of Hawaii's families are below the poverty level (as compared to 10.2% on average for the U.S.) and 9.8% of Hawaii's individuals are below the poverty level (as compared to 13.3% on average for the U.S.) So, the poverty rate here in Hawaii is lower than the national average.
Like others have said, it's primarily Asian (42%) or Asian mixes. I lived in Hawaii for 17 yrs before moving to the mainland, and it seems like a lot of the people I knew when I was there were mixed-race (like Hawaiian-Chinese, Japanese-white, etc.) The next largest group after the mixed race people and Asians are white people. I only knew of 2 black people in my schools when I was growing up and no Mexicans, though there were Portuguese people. Of course there are native Hawaiians and other Polynesians too in Hawaii.
I didn't feel like there was more crime in Hawaii than there is here in the mainland when I lived there, but I was surprised when I looked at the stats from the National Institute of Corrections for 2004. Apparently the crime rate for the state is 22.1% higher than the national average! Shocking to me. Property crimes are higher than the national average, but violent crimes are lower than the national average.
And as for the last question, yep it seems like most of the rich people are white, but I think that's more because many of the white people weren't born and raised in Hawaii but instead moved there after making a decent salary elsewhere. The salaries are really low in Hawaii relative to the mainland, so people that come there with savings are at a huge advantage generally to people that were born and raised there and work at normal jobs.

I have lived in Hilo on The Big Island of Hawaii for 24 years. That is half of my life. First of all, it isn'Doug, the bounty hunter, it is Dog. I know him personally and have wittnessed several of his captures. The poverty level is average. Not even close to LA. The rich are mostly Japanese and whites. You rarely even see any blacks at all. I cant understand why.........

They seem to have a huge ICE problem which I guess is crystal meth. I never seen such a problem in one area. I have seen it somewhat isolated in southern states and the South Weat but almost everyone he is after has an "ice" problem.

Mainly a Japanese population, but lots of mix of polynesians and samoans and whites and blacks and other asians and so on.
Lots of crime and racial and cultural strife, yes.
Not as bad a Los Angeles though. :)

There is crime everywhere it just isn't televised. And race shouldn't have to do with wealth.
