Spiders, roaches, the dark, and getting old.

Which I know sounds a little pathetic. Like people always say, "the bugs are more afraid of you, then you are of them, but they seriously creep me out! The spider thing I think started when I was a kid and a jumping spider jumped like two feet off the conter, and bit my arm before I got it off. And the roaches definately came from this documentary I was watching on child abuse, and how in dirty homes if you looked at the people who live there, their eyelashes were often eaten, or partially eaten right off their faces while they slept, by roaches! EEEW!

And the dark, well, its not like I'm scared of the boogey man, its more like it scares me to not be able to see, you know? Like, anything could be standing right next to me, and I wouldn't even know it. I mean, literally, there could be spiders, roaches, mass murderers, all within touching distance, and I wouldn't be able to see them to defend myself.

And getting old... Well, several of the older people in my family have alzheimer's or dementia, and it terrifies me to think that that could be me some day. The other day my grandma (who is 88) freaked out because she "lost her baby" her "baby" is my dad, the fifty year old man who was sitting next to her. Not knowing how to distinguish reality from the past terrifies me, and so does the thought of aging and becoming the very thing that scares me; without even being aware of it.

For some reason, i am still afraid of the dark. I know there aren't any monsters or anything stupid like that, but there are things out there that we don't know of.

many: socialising, talking to stunning women and sometimes dancing. But not talking in public for instance, or appearing in national television/radio before millions of people

dead animals. it terrifies me, even though I handle live animals of all kinds without ever hesitating. don't ever show me a dead animal...I will scream for sure...I do every time. It's so weird, because I adore animals and will pick up anything....but I stay away from dead stuff....yikes!
