I think that someone will come along that will be comparable in talent, but I think that Michael Jordan transended the game of basketball, becoming an international superstar. At one time, he was the most recognized person on the planet. That says a lot about what he did for the game of basketball. He brought it back from the brink, with the retirement of Magic and Larry Bird, he was the last "class act".
Michael was so much more than a baskteball star - he was an ambassador for the game. He brought people in, and he made it okay for kids to look up to someone that was an athlete without the worry of a "bad example". He was well dressed, well spoken, respectful, made it okay to idolize a basketball player. Now days, you have the "thugs", and those that are allowing their fame to go to their head. Drugs, violence, weapons. . . Those are some of what fans see now days in all sports. It is a shame, really.
That is what Michael Jordan was. They may find someone to do all of the things on the court he did (the talk is now about Dwayne Wade from the Heat), but to find that person on and off the court may be something that comes along once in a life time.

I dont get why they compare people to MJ, they are 2 different people. When Kobe scored 81, they said hes the next MJ, When Lebron took the pistons to game 7, they said hes TNMJ, when D-Wade beat the mavericks in the finals, they said hes TNMJ. people need to stop comparing everyone whos good to michael Jordan because there will never be another like him. you cant compare. the levels of the game were different, the rules were different, everything was different. Personally, I think that they are all good, and legends. the only one I DONT think deserves that title yet is Dwayne wade.
The reason that hes getting so much attention is because he had 3 big games that were the last of the year and when the season ended, people had 4 months to talk about those games, so I dont think hes that great. and if Kobe or Lebron had a supporting cast like Wade has, they would have won titles a few years ago... and BTW, Lebron is 4 years YOUNGER than Wade. thats a lot considering wade will retire by the time hes about 38. that means he only can play around a maximun of 17 seasons in the league, while Kobe or LeBron, or even Dwight howard, have around a 3 year advantage on him because they didnt go to College. So Kobe and Lebron will most likely play about 22 seasons. Also because they take many more Jumpers than wade, whos driving power will go out with age.

No, there will never be another Michael Jordan. Not only did he have magical abilities, but he also was responsible for basketball gaining the amount of popularity that it has today. There are some great ball players in the NBA today as you stated, and they may beat his records but they won't have the legendary status that Jordan has and will always remain as the greatest in NBA history. Jordan was also the first athlete to get million dollar endoresments. This opened the door up for athletes of all sports. Besides, MJ won 6 NBA championships and the Bulls of the 90's were seen as one of the best NBA teams in the game's existence. MJ will have legendary status forever like Babe Ruth did for baseball. MJ is a major chapter in sports history.

Michael jordan was a man that many/most die to see in their lifetimes. Im glad to have lived in the Jordna era. But after Mike, I feel with this comparison thingi, that there mayb someone better. Now were are speaking of Jordan on the court. And yeah on the court Kobe is a better player, don't get upset at me saying this.. I am not a Kobe fan. You might think he is a ball hogger, but if you see Jordan's games from 85-90 those seasons, he was one too. Kobe wasn't a ball hog cuz he had shaq. who does Kobe really have now? Think about it this way, after micheal won championships and all he was unstoppable. Butt he Best Jordan versus the Best Kobe Kobe is much more athletic, he might not b able to do the free thro dunk, but comin on one on one plys and everything, i feel as if kobe is better. Kobe can score so well, im not saying Jordan couldn't Jordan was just as great. But today, Kobe is becoming the next great, not the next michael. Michael wasn't like Kobe, but ont he court they are both great. i feel as if i had to choose I'd choose Michael, bcause of his experience and leadership, Kobe hasn't had the chance to prove that yet, or well he has to learn that. Kobe has at least good 5 seasons to do wutever he wants and become a leader and win 6 championships. but LeBron is right now out of my mind because of the way he perfmed at the FIBA games, Mello was impressive but he is quiet in NBA. so i ono. role changes? yeh in the end i do agree iwth u. Michael is the best, ALL AROUND player. Kobe can b. isn't yet.

,No, there will never be another Michael Jordan. Not only was he a great player he also had class and charisma. In fact he still does have " IT " . I really doubt anyone will come along and have just the right amounts of each.

No way, there is only one Michael Jordan in the same manner that there is only Shaq, one Kobe, one Chamberlain, one Wade. Not unless of course a Michael Jordan Jr. would play in the NBA someday.

There will never be another Michael Jordan. Even if players achieve the same greatness and play just as well they'll just be who they are. Just like there will never be another Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle in baseball

There is absolutely no one playing today who can be compared to Michael. And - yet - he cannot compare to either Wilt Chamberlaine or Kareem Abdul Jabbar who came before him. We can only hope there are more players like these in our lifetimes. Certainly those in trouble with drugs, alcohol, and crime are not worthy no matter how well some think they play. Morals and ethics are instrumental to sports and these people are not role models.

Yes. When I clone his *** and inject his DNA into the newly radiated (killing old DNA) wife's Egg cell. There will be another Michael Jordan, he will be my son. Michael Kal-El Jordan. He will be my gift to the people of this planet. "Kal-El the people of Earth are a good people, they want to do good things. That is why I have sent them you..my only son."
