Ok, i'm taking this dance class for beginners for hip hop/jazz and i'm 13 and most of the other kids are 7 or 8. I want to quit, but my mom spent a lot of money on the classes but I really don't want to take this class. So I think i'm going to take the classes for the rest of the month just in case i happen to like it by then and if i dont i'll just pay my mom back the money she spent on the classes and quit. I don't know if this is a very good plan. so what should i do?

You need to take classes for your own age. Its really important for your dancing. If you are going to work at the same dance company, then you should just be able to switch your class and pay the same amount of money. Maybe stay for a little while, but it will benefit you a whole lot to take a different class.

I would stick with it. Since you are the older one you would make a great role model for the younger ones. I have a 9 and 4 year old daughter. They love being around older girls that will teach them fun stuff like that. Talk to your teacher about it and see if she will let you up front with her. Maybe you can be her assistant. Have fun with it. You are only 13 once!

Sounds like a great plan to me. You might ask the teacher if there's a more age-appropriate class you could switch to, since you're all paid up anyway.

Good luck!
