THe Amtrak Pennsylvanian # 42 I think runs direct from Pitts burgh to Phila & on to NYC. A second train takes a odd ball rout e though DC. Now to get to Pt. Pleasant, NJ? The #42 stops at Trenton. There you would have to transfer to a NJ transit train.

You would have to take Amtrak from Pittsburgh to Newark, NJ Penn Station, and switch and get on a New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line to the Point Pleasant Beach stop.
