First, the pain lessens as you get used to the shoes. After some practice, one can walk AND run in them. You *really* do not want to wear them for an all-day trip to the mall, however!
Second, the shoes are *adorable*
Third, high heels make one's legs look better :-))
High heels are very feminine.
High heels are fun to wear. They make walking a whole new experience :-))
The pointy little heels also sink down into ice and snow, like crampons, and make winter walking safer!
High heels are sexy, and many guys cannot resist them :-))

I don't do it to impress guys at all. Sometimes at work I have to wear a suit, and I might wear heels with the suit.
Heels aren't bad if you sit down most of the time.

most women get used to it. some women's feet are not meant for high heels. depending on their arch.
my mom wears high heels ALL the time. even walking around the zoo. and her feet don't get sore. same with squatting, she can squat for HOURS. i can squat for 5 minutes and then my feet hurt really bad.

After wearing heels for awhile, your legs and feet get used to them, and it doesn't hurt anymore. I have worn heels for years and years.

No! I hate high heels. I swear that if it's 2 inches or more, I can not walk in them at all. Some people where heels at least 5 inches, and its sickening!

invest in high end high heels they are quite comfortable.
and gradually work up to higher heels
but I have high arches so high heels don't bother me

it depends on your feet, there are people who are comfortable in wearing high heels and there are those who are not.
