they also do a lot of diplomacy (like an ambassador here in the states). they do charities, galas, and events that we do not do here, both for political, social, and personal reasons.

why do they exist, why not... they do a lot of good (or at lease they used to Queen Elizabeth knows here place in the world and demands and deserves respect. now price Charles ???

They really don't do anything. It's more of tradition. Parliament takes care of the government.
