First go to start and then right click on your computer icon and click properties. then click on Computer Name, look to see what domain the laptop is in, do the same on the Desktop. Make sure the two computer are in the same domain. If they are not click on the change button then create a domain name and put both computers in it.

Then on the home computer create a folder on your C: drive. Once you do that, right click, you'll see sharing and security, click on that. Click on the Sharing Tab, and click on the circle that says "share this folder" click ok.

Now on the laptop go to "My network places" you should see a your desktop computer name in there doubble click on that. You should now see the folder you created. All you have to do is drag and drop the info you want to move from the Laptop to the desktop.

Make sure that both computers are connected to the wireless router. This is the easy way without buying a USB drive.
