I need to know what everyone thinks about how he was in the first of the book and how he gets at the end of the book. I am doing a research paper on this and need help. This is actually my first analytical research paper.

One of the major changes his character makes revolves around his views on slavery. Through the course of his adventure with Jim, Huck goes from viewing him as property to viewing him as an equal.

There are lots of other ways his character grows during the novel. I suggest you re-read it and pay attention to themes of slavery, truthfulness, and maturity.

This may be your first analytical research paper, but it certainly won't be your last, so you should really learn how to do these on your own now, while the topic matter is still easy. You'll find it more and more difficult to find people to help you with literature papers the further you get in school. Learn now while it's easy stuff!!!

I suspect you can answer your own question. But to help you use your own analysis, think of this:

What are Huck's views of people in the first part of the book (including racial issues) as compared to the end of his journey? While he used pranks in the beginning of the book to simply annoy relatives, how did this change at the end (he still used pranks -- but his goals changed).

YOU can do the analysis. Its fun, and you will get alot more out of your ideas than anybody elses.

Are you researching the novel, or are you researching our answers?
If you are researching the book, "in its entirety" then read it from cover to cover. Take notes as you go along, if you notice Huck growing up at all, or changing in his outlook.
