Where do teeth come from? I asked if they can be born with them.

Wel let me tell you!!!! YES THEY CAN!! I was surprised that my daughter was born with teeth because I never had heard of that! She was born with her 2 bottom teeth. It was hard let me tell you. Nursing her was impossible. Her tiny little teeth would just tear me up. Also when she would take the bottle her teeth would scrape the bottom of her tongue and it caused her to have an ulcer on the bottom of her tongue. She would always bleed and was always in pain. Feeding time was a battle for us. Eventually the ulcer healed and she was able to eat comfortably. But yes babies can be born with teeth because mine was. Doctors said that it is possible that I had too much calcium when I was pregnant which is true because I was always drinnking milk. But anyway, now she's 17 months old and still has those 2 teeth that she was born with!

Baby Born With Teeth

There is great variation in the age at which teeth erupt. Some babies are born with a tooth or teeth, whereas in others the first tooth may not appear until after 12 months of age. The first to erupt tend to be the lower central incisors (bottom middle teeth) but again this does not seem to be the case for all babies. There is absolutely no reason to be worried if a tooth has appeared earlier than expected. Some people worry that early teeth might interfere with breastfeeding (hurting the mother's nipple), but this doesn't seem to be the case

Yes, they can. My grandmother's sister (i know sounds like a far off relation, but she's my great aunt) was born with a tooth, and cut her second one at TWO WEEKS OLD.

Learning that gave me some real respect for my great grandmother. Imagine a teething newborn!

Yes.They are called "hens teeth" and usually fall out after a very short while. It is a very rare occurrence from which we get the expression "Rare as Hens Teeth"

My mother was! I've never heard anyone else speak of this. She was written up in some medical dental journal, too.
She was born with some and they fell out. Then she got baby teeth. Then she got adult teeth. Then she got another partial set of teeth behind her row of adult teeth and had to have them cut out.
They're called supernumerary teeth.
Do you know someone else who has this?
