I had my hcg level drawn yesterday and it was 444. I am supposed to be 5 weeks but my gestational sac has no sign of a yolk sac. Is this pregnancy doomed to fail or am i just not as far along as they think?

Honey think positive. Only your doctor would know the answers. Maybe you are not as far as you thought who knows?...But one thing I have learned regarding pregnancy is everyone's different, and every ones' body is different chemical wise etc. They try to give us all a ball park status with everything, but the reality of it is every woman is different.

This sounds like a "Blighted Ovum". It's a very common occurance. The sperm fertilized the egg but it failed to produce a fetus (or no baby). It will still show an HCG level but there may be no fetus. A Blighted Ovum has all the real symptoms of pregnancy, ie; elevated HCG, positive test results for both blood and urine, nausea, breast tenderness, etc.

You may need to follow this up with an ultra sound to determine if there is any heart beat. If there is no heart beat, there is no fetus (or you may not be as far along as you think). Ultimately, the ultra sound will tell you what you need to know.

If incase this is a Blighted Ovum, you may need to have Dilation & Curettage or D&C (a procedure to clean the uterus of tissues that formulated from the Blighted Ovum), or the false pregnancy can abort on it's own. Be aware if severe hemmoraging starts to occur, you may need hospitalization. Seek out your physician for your best options.

Sorry to say, but that doens't sound good. That happened to my sister and a friend of mine. They went to have the hcg drawn, and they were a certain number. There was no yolk sac,and they were told to come back next week to check again. When they did the levels had gone down more.

Honey, I feel your pain. I had the same exact thing happen to me. But in my case they had there heads up there but and it took me going to another OB and looking at my ultrasound results for her to tell me there was no yolk sac. I dont know if this happens for all, but I lost the baby at 7 wks. they should be checking your levels again and if they should double. So good luck.

it must be low because of the fact its so early, it incredibly is the main in all probability reason. it could additionally mean its ectopic, to no longer scare you. and additionally all and sundry is distinctive so specifically cases peoples hcg tiers upward thrust alittle slower. even with the undeniable fact that my feeling is that in case you obgyn suspected that they might talk it with you.
