well u have to get a foundation that comes closest to ur natural skin tone. get a good brand one. apply the foundation first. then apply concealer if u have dark circles or other parts that r darker like around the lips. then set it with loose powder. that is the way to get flawless skin.

I agree with the Bare Minerals comment- mineral makeup is excellent for creating a "flawless finish." There are some less expensive and healthier mineral makeups out there besides Bare Minerals. Try EveryDay Minerals- I like them better (they don't have the bismuth oxychloride that Bare Minerals has; that ingredient is known to cause itching in some sensitive users.) You can find EveryDay Minerals at http://www.everydayminerals.com/ I have ordered from that site and they are very good- they have a "samples" collection that is very inexpensive that you can try before comitting. If you prefer to buy in a store, Sephora carries the full line of Bare Minerals products.

For the BEST finish, make sure your skin is well-moisturized with an oil-free facial moisturizer and let that absorb (it varies from person to person... I usually have to let mine absorb for about 15 minutes) and then, USE A MAKEUP PRIMER. There are tinted primers and clear primers- the best I have used is Smashbox's "Photo Finish." This product is also available at Sephora or at several on-line sites. It is a non-comedogenic silicone-based product that will fill in any enlarged pores without cloging them, and create a smooth surface for the makeup.

For a truly "flawless" finish, use a good concealer. Mineral makeups have their own concealers, or you can use a cream concealer if you prefer. Then, follow the application instructions for the mineral makeup and viola! Flawless!

One note: mineral makeup can be tricky to apply the first few times- it takes practice. So (speaking from experience, lol) don't try it for the first time in the morning when you are already running a little late for work ;-) Once you get the hang of it, it goes on very fast, easily and effortlessly- it just takes a try or two to get the technique for the results you like :-)

Good luck!

Foundation. The best ones for coverage are the mousse formulas. Lancome has a good one and Maybelline's isn't bad either, except it can kind of collect in large pores. They can be a little heavy for everyday use (I wear the Maybelline in photo shoots only). A good everyday one is L'Oreal True Match. It has good coverage and a very nice matte finish. Great stuff.

I would NOT recommend a mineral makeup for a good finish!! If you have blemishes, the coverage isn't that great. BareMinerals is also really sparkly, which a foundation shouldn't be. This is a very overhyped product and I have seen a lot of people who think this is great and they look fabulously natural, but in all honesty they look a bit like drag queens in some light.

Good lasting waterproof foundation + concealer! Most importantly, no thick cakey foundation please, if not it'd look as if you had a mask on instead of flawless skin~

IMPT Point to take note: How do you know if the foundation is waterproof? Answer: Drip a small amount of foundation into a bowl of tap water. If it doesn't disperse and mix with the water, then its waterproof! Try testing it~

BARE MINERALS MAKEUP! LOOK AT MY FACE!
If it is too expensive. Try a bit of liquid foundation and then
a liquid/dry powder like covergirl in the lightblue makeup case to put over it. Then touch with bronzer on the cheeks, forehead, nose chin.
