hey yeah i have that! =]
im not like a game pro or anything, but
1) you can powerslide and get a speed boost.
2) to powerslide move left and right while pressing the R or L buttons
3) in delfino square there is a side passage in between some boxes right before a corner. Careful though! It's kind of muddy.
4) to throw objects in front of you, press the up button while shooting
5) In the sky garden, there is a ramp that makes you go faster and gets you ahead.

Snaking! Basically, you power slide and boost your way back and forth in a zig-zag diagonal fashion through an entire race, making it possible to go faster then if you just raced normally.

Snaking is not techinically cheating, but it's frowned upon by many Mario Kart players. If you're going to do it, expect to anger some people.
