I'm pretty sure it is ovulation. Was your discharge like egg whites? If so it is ovulation.

Around when my period was supposed to start (I'm 8 weeks pregnant) I felt like I was almost cramping. It was a little deeper than my cramps and not as sharp as my cramps, but it sure felt like I was going to start my period. The cramping continued for a week or two afterwards. The feelings you are having could very well be implantation pains.

I can always feel myself ovulate, if you've never felt this before then it might not be ovulation. Ovulation feels like a slight cramping for a couple days (for me at least.) It all depends on when your last period was whether it is implantation pains or ovulation pains. They are often a week or two apart (ovulation first of course.)
