Pretty much. They would say I had a choice, but they would have had a cow and then some, had I not gone.

No. It was always presumed I would go. There was never any discussion of yes or no. My mother did, however, "force" me as to which college I would attend the first year and said I could change schools after that if I still wanted to. I'm sure she knew once I was settled there I would not transfer. Now, looking back, I wish I had realized that since I paid my own way entirely I could have defied her and gone anywhere I pleased. But, my 18-year-old self did not have that knowledge or willfullness.

I'm not old enough to go to college yet but my dad said that if I don't go to college then he is going to kick me out of the house whether I have any money or not. If I got to college, I can live in the house until I graduate. So, basically I am being forced to go to college.

Yes and no. They didn't say it in so many words that if I didn't go there would be consequences but it has pretty much been an unspoken rule since elementary school when I started showing that I had potential.

I know they would have been greatly disappointed if I didn't, they couldn't really do anything. Not like they've even given me a penny to help with my bills.

In a round about way--YES. In our family it is either military or college. I am not cut out for the military so college is where I went which I was planning to go anyway. 2 of us went to college and 1 went to the USAF and is still is to this day.

No, in fact they were entirely anti-college. They did okay without it and didn't think I needed to go either. They didn't support me in any way.
