There are lot of military members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan who are running for Congress. Most of them are running as Democrats.

If Democrats hate the military as the Rush Limbaugh’s and Ann Coulter’s of the world insist, why would these combat veterans do that?

Because Democrats don't hate the military.
They hate to see people killed in a War based on lies.
Lies Lies Lies.
When you send a soldier in to die or be maimed in a war based on LIES that is not supporting the troops.
But when it is all done Halliburton and the Oil Companies can divide their profits by U.S body count and strive to do better in the next war based on LIES AND PROFIT.
And they will give Dubya his cut in unmarked bills.

I'm sure the answer (assuming there is 1 answer) will not be simple. I wonder if "most" is correct? Do they have numbers to back that up.
If you had served time in Iraq and seen the screwed up plan or lack of one you might want to run on the other party's ticket.
I know nothing about Coulter but Limbaugh's search for the truth by having a discussion with his self is not worth thinking about. If you are inclined to that persuasion (conservative) I would suggest you look for information from someone who is interested in the facts rather than their ratings.

As far as the comment "Democrates hating the military" that is bogus.

Dems are among the most patriotic and brave individuals in this nation*, unfortunately (?) they would rather be recognized on their own merits rather than participate in character assassination which conservative pundits have far too much time for.

Rush Limbaugh would rather pop a bottle of pills and wet himself let alone pick up a rifle to defend this nation. Ann Coulter is simply Joseph Goebbel's brain transplanted into an Aryan Prototype's body.

* Democratic US Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota had a son in the service, fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan when most other politicians (i.e. GOP Chickenhawks) who approved of the war did so without any immediate personal risk to themselves or their children. You sure don't see the Bush twins registering for the service now, do you?

The facts that Ann and Rush do not want to accept or listen to are as follows:

1) A great number of military personel are comprised of people who sought the education and insurance that the military uses as a dangling carrot. They are in pursuit of the American Dream like the rest of us and it looks like a good path when you are raised in a lower-middle class family.

2) When they return to discover that the jobs are not there for them when they return because all of the work has been outsourced - do you think they will blame liberals and democrats?

3)When they see just how little we know about the war and our own politics they have to stop and wonder: "Why were you all so confident that you were sending us off for a good cause?" and "what do these stupid yellow ribbons mean anyway?"

4) The fact that Rush, Bush, Cheney, Ann, Rumsfeld, and all the other conservative blow hards have evaded their military and civic duties and have never sent their own children off to war speaks loud and clear to all of us.

The Upper Crust is using the lower middle class as pieces on the Monopoly board that we call the Middle East. People who cannot see that are in denial.

Rush Limgaugh and Ann Coulter are idiots - there are as many people in the military who are Democrats as there are Republicans. For every general who is a republican there is a general who is a democrat. People forget that everyone thought Eisenhower was a democrat until he declared he would run as a republican - which he did because he knew he would have an easier time getting the republican party nomination - not because he was a life long republican.

While the military is predominantly conservative it is not entirely so. Those among them who are of a liberal bent have a great opportunity to speak against the war and be taken more seriously than a politician at home who has not served as they have done in the present war. The Democratic party realizes this and is hard at work at recruiting them to their cause. It is a smart move on their part and they would be fools no to tap into them. Some of them are genuinely disenchanted with the war effort and need no such prompting from the dems to campaign against it.

There aren't that many of them however, and though one or two of them might get some political mileage out of their anti-war stance, the majority of them will not get very far. There are a lot more soldiers coming back and supporting the war effort. Re-enlistment on the battle field is over 75% and that speaks volumes as to how the average soldier really feels about their role in the war and the war's role in both our national and world security.

Democrats and republican are fighting in Iraq. When you see the terrible injustice that has been carried out on our service men, you have to stand up and fight for them and the nation. Ann Coulter is a joke even to republicans.

I must re-state what others have already said - Don't count on any truth coming from Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter! They are both lying entertainers - nothing more, nothing less.
