Does it have bugs? What kind of ivy? English? Swedish? Did you fertilize it and give it too much? Are the leaves crispy or soggy? How often do you water it?

I have a lot of plants. I have a bonsai that flowers and last year had fruit. I have a sword plant that flowers every year. And now my adopted Venus flytrap is flowering. I find that overwatering can be the most common cause of problems.

First ivy is a very hard plant to grow so don't feel bad. Second the fastest way to kill a plant is to over water it. Twice a week at most. Stick your finger in the dirt and if it feels moist don't water it. When you allow the soil to dry the roots start to look for water and the roots grow that way. If they have too much water the roots lay stagnant and the plant begins to die. Also the ivy may have too much or not enough light, you'll have to experiment and see which way it grows better. Good luck.

You can have plant rot............just a name for needing to repot your plant in a bigger container............
Just place some newspaper down and turn your plant upside down( after tapping the container to loosen it)You'll probably be surprised to see so many roots wrapped aroung the soil.......You may also be surprised to see how dry your plant is................
While you have your plant on the newspaper take a knife, or scissors and cut off half of the root ball...............Hopefull you will have some added fresh soil or compost to replace the old.....In your bigger pot, you should make sure there are air or seepage holes in the bottom............you can place some broken clay potting pieces in the bottom of your bigger pot, then add some fresh dirt, then the plant itself and 1 cup of water with miracle grow or something similar, say 1/4 tsp in the cup of water.
You should water at least once a week if indoors...You won't need to fertilize it again for 3 months....Good luck

YOU DIDN'T SAY WHAT KIND OF PLANT, HOUSE OR OUT DOOR. IF IT'S OUT DOORS IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR FOR PLANTS TO START DYING BACK AND GETTING READY FOR WINTER.
