The biggest threat of a Tsunami in the United States is in on the West coast and most likely Oregon. There is a major fault line in the Pacific Ocean and when the fault has major movement, which is expected to occur any time now, an underwater earthquake will trigger a big Tsunami. The United States West will be getting the Tsunami warning system just for this reason.

Well the East Coast is in danger of a Tsunami off the coast of Africa and possibly an island in the Mediteranean called La Palma are hot spots for geologic activity. The volcanoes and/or mountains in the area have been soften deeply by annual accumulating rainfall and the next eruption may indeed cause an immense portion of the mountain to slide and displace enough water to cause a monster Tsunami capable of crossing oceans and have a height of about 450 ft or more...The western coast is vulnerable to tsunamis coming from Japan or Alaska so really both sides are vulnerable to this type of geologic disaster.

The east coast. There are so many residences on the east coast where people have built on what are basically sand bars.
That includes billion dollar real estate like Miami beach.
This folly ignores the fact that there have been massive tsunami in the Atlantic in historic times. I have a scientist friend who lives in Ireland who can show places where the sea has cast massive boulders onto high cliffs on Ireland's west coast.
The North Atlantic is just as geologically active as the Pacific, but the Atlantic is only half as wide, so Tsunami are likely to average more severe on the east coast of USA than the west.
If you live on a sand bar on the east coast, move now. You are more vulnerable to hurricanes anyway.

Hi. Sorry but yes. There is an island off the coast of Africa with an active geology. There is also a HUGE amount of relatively soft material that could collapse and slip into the sea. This would displace water equal to the volume of the land mass, many cubic kilometers. The result would be a devastating tsunami on the East coast.

More often on the West coast however, the most devastating on the East from a volcanic island off the coat of Africa which is predicted to split in half falling into the ocean. When, we do not know but the fissure, upon eruption, would send a mega tsunami to the eastern coast.

On the coasts. If there is an earthquake in the ocean, there could quite possibly be a Tsunami.

the coastal areas.
the Pacific Coast in particular...the Pacific Ocean's floor is a seismic hotbed, anything from volcanoes to earthquakes.
