who believes love is a many sided thing. and that certain types of are sacred and for only two people but that there is also the univirsal love that we share with strangers? Love should be given without fear and shared by man kind if we all thought like this no one would get hurt cause wed all be busy loving eachother. maybe im not making sense but i wish people would see that love has different parts within it. you can love your friend but not like your lover or father or that halirous aquaintince. im not saying we should be loving everyone the same way but that we should love until we hate.

I completely agree, I mean you can look at if you don't hate someone you must love them or if you don't love them you must hate them, those are the only two ways.. bare with me I'll make sense in a minute.. If you look at everything as I don't hate it so I gotta love it, it makes life more fun to life and more enjoyable because you aren't lloking down on anything or looking at it badly. Love is one of those words that a) has a thousand and one meaning.. I love a lot of people, I mean I hate as well.. or at least a potential to hate them.. but I love a lot, and I say love a lot, but it's cause I mean it, it's just I love everyone differently for different thigns, and what I hate is that everyone looks at me in a bad way for "throwing the word love around" but see, throwing it around is saying I love you and then ditching someone.. so this leads me to point b) it is also a word that is thrown around way to much. To me love is love but saying it means NOTHING.. not in this world anymore is been used and abused and is now a word used to like make money in advertising and get what you want.. love is expressed threw action... like you said is is a many sided thing. Love expressed between two people is beautiful and a wonderful thing thats so powerful that I don't belive it's a thing that can be replicated. Universal love is and SHOULD be in our world, because without it makes this world unpeaceful and edgy... Everyone should do things for others.. smile at a complete stranger, pick up a fallen item from a neaby person, help someone incapable at crossing the street.. some things are so small but they show you care.. show you have universal love

Love is true and factual and does has many sides but do not lead no one toward hatred. That would mean that it was not love in the first place. Love hides all faults but it never records itself toward hate in any way. Many people get love mixed up in the hell hole not understanding and wind up hating not the person but themnselves. So I read what you has to say and sister do not tell anyone to love until they hate cause you are in error.

Just like the Eskimos had many words for "snow", the Greeks had many words for "love". In a way, you are defining the different types of love.

It's interesting, we have agape and eros, etc, but has anyone ever heard of different words for hate? Or is hate just hate?

Essentially your right. There are many different ways to love someone. The love you have for a family member is different than romantic love. You have the love of a friend which is different also. Then you have universal love which encompasses all people. But the most important love of all is the love of self. Before you can truly love another you have to love yourself.

It all worked just fine back in the 60's and 70"s. But the world has changed, and the word has gone out of style.

Love comes from above and trickles down. Love is already there. We just need to be good conduits.

The Greeks had it down...agape love - a God-like principled love...phileo - brotherly love.....eros - physical sexual love...

you were right; it really doesnt make sense...I kinda get the whole 'love thy neighbor' thing, which isnt really what you're talking about, but that's what I interpreted...Anyway, good luck getting the answer you want!
