If there is nothing medically wrong with the person, how long should a wife or husband be expected to stay in a sexless marriage?

The marriage has lasted for 8 years and at one time sex was atleast 1xa wk. which can be dealt with. Now, the wife has to litterally beg him for sex. The longest the wife has went without is 4 MONTHS. and he wouldnt have done it then if she hadnt pitched a fit. The hubby has gained waight and his excuse for no sex is 'Hes tired and doesnt feel like it'. it is making the wife feel worthless. If it was a medical problem she would understand and deal with it and go on.

I think a marriage without physical love is akin to breaking a contract;love only in spirt is for ghosts, not people.

Why would a person be in a sexless marriage to begin with? Was there sex in the beginning? How long into the marriage did the sex life stop?
I would suggest marriage counseling and if that doesn't help(Make sure it's not physical by visiting a doctor) then it will be up to the person that is not having thewir needs met to decide to leave or stay.
I myself would not stay in a sexless marriage more than half a second.

if there is nothing wrong with the person u shouldn't have to wait long to have sex the longest maybe 2 months i think that there could be other issues
a person should stay maybe2-6 months in a sexless relationship trying to work it out but if u tried communication and looking good for him than maybe u should move on to others oviously the person is not interested or has someone else so u should move on and make yourself happy

I believe that sex is a part of the mariage you can only give to eachother and that is what keeps the relationship alive. Once one spouse wants to quit and the other is left there w/ nothing that hurts the relationship. It's not ok for the spouse to go run out somewhere else but what do they do. I think some people just quit trying and all you have to do is give a little bit of your time to them. I don't see what is so hard about that.
They need to get help or it's not going to work out.

4 months are you serious!!!!!! I'm ******** after two or three days, but me and my husband still have a really good relationship. We are just pulled away from each other with the three children we have sending us in every different direction. When we do get together it's like renewing our love for each other, and it's awesome. When I bit** at him for lack of sex I make it fun teasing him in some outfit or start flirting with him in many ways. Get some toys, get some videos do something and if you are unable to rekindle any sparks than maybe it's time to move on. Get involved in a health club and maybe he will see how well you are doing and see your new gained independence and want to start chasing after you. At any rate four months NO WAY!!!!!

I think it depends on whether or not the couple have children. If they do they should try harder to stay together. If they don't she should probably leave him. I have been there, done that and bought the t-shirt and it's not fun at all. I was in a sex deprived marriage for 16 years. We had kids though so I thought we should work it out. It didn't work though.

Without the passion, are you not just roommates? I can't live without some passion in my life for my marriage.

It almost seems like a lack of respect for his spouse, an unwillingness to do what will make her feel whole in the marriage. I guess a person has to figure out their breaking point in losing their self esteem, because this would lower self esteem.

The Bibles says it's not good to keep yourself from your spouse unless both agree on it. If it's longer than you prefer, and you've brought it to your spouses attention, and they refuse to do anything about it, you may want to contact a marriage counselor, or if it's too late for counseling call Judge Mabeline!! Just joking, seriously, give communication another try, and if no luck there contact a divorce lawyer. Sex is a gift from God for married people, with holding it without a good reason will only provoke you to betray your vowels.

Ask yourself this question, do I love him enough to try and find out what the problem is and how to fix it. If you have already tried with no success, then it's probably a good time to weigh your options and make a decision. Your obviously not happy and that will only bring you down, maybe you should cut your losses and run. Good Luck!

The only thing I can say about that is this and you can read it for yourself.. 1 Cor. 7:3-4 (nkjv) and it reads: "Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, & likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does." A married couple should have sexual relations, not only just to conceive children, but to show 1 another their complete love & devotion.

There is no such thing as a sexless marriage, If either party is not involved with each other, they are definitely doing someone else. Unless of course something medically is wrong, then they should talk about it and find options to fix the problem. I truly believe anything is possible, it just takes two. You cant fix it alone, beside someone will end up w/ corpratunnel( LOL)
