well,yes. We NEED the penny because some of us go over on gas one penny or we need less than 5 cents or something. The penny is an important part of our life. You could have bought alot with the penny a long time ago.

It seems the penny is now more trouble than it is of value. People generally don't care much about a penny or two. Therefore, I would be in favor of eliminating the U.S. Penny and rounding sales to the nearest nickel.

The price of copper per pound is higher then the value of pennies of equivalent weight, so in reality one looses money. The Dutch have abolished the penny and everything is rounded to 5 cents or a nickel.

yes we should keep the penny even though it costs more produce them than their worth we print enough paper to offset the balance and what congresional act would impliment it what would we do with all the pennys now in existance so i say we dont need to manufacture the pennys every year but doing away with them all together will not do us any good

The penny is useless but the government will round all the prices-up in their favor if they eliminated them...

Yes. If we got rid of pennies we would have to redo the entire system. I don't know about you, but I say to heck with that. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
