This was not a Lebanon /Israeli war. It was brought on by the terrorist regime of Iran. Israel is a peaceful Country which keeps getting attacked for no reason, just as the United States of America and many other Countries were attacked. This is a good question. To go back in time, a nation is created by uprooting the native residents who are subjected to inhuman oppression. Then completely contrary to international law, the usurping nation puts jewish settlers from US and other parts in the lands that it has occupied, etc. Now to your question, I think part of the answer is because Zionist jews have very significant control over media so have constantly fed lies to the American public to the point that culprit is seen as the victim by many in US. Meanwhile they have created a biassed dislike towards Muslims, so now you hear the president talk abou Islamofascists instead of say Zionazis. And if you notice a lot of sensitive and important positions are also occupied by Zionists and their sympathisers. Just look at the background of advisors to Bush, and those who shape American foreign policy. Unfortunately a lot of Americans are not very literate politically and are naive and gullible to the extent that they believe their mainstream media is free and truthful. Then you have the huge red neck population who are opinionated but they are not aware that it's really the Zionists and the filthy rich who are moulding their opinions. To exacerbate the situation, among the leaders of the Arab and Muslim nations there are many puppets and traitors who pay homage to US administration instead of Islam and their public. So there's little official protest...just look at the reaction from these leaders while Israel was committing such heinous crimes against humanity in Lebanon. Cryptograph before me mentions that Israel wasn't fighting Lebanon, implying that it was fighting Hezbollah. Hezbollah came into being in response not only to the threat, but in response to actual massacre and destruction of Lebanon some years ago, and as yet the occasion has not arisen for it to put down its arms. Israel had not left the Lebanese territory completely, and there are about 10000 Palestinian, Lebanese, etc. in Israeli jails including lots of women and children. It is really sad when so many Muslim leaders and non-Muslim ones are cooperating with US government. Anyway, this is not a complete and comprehensive answer but I hope to have touched on some relevant points.

The Lebanese people voted Hezbollah into many positions in the government. Then Hezbollah violated international law by storing its weapons where the Lebanese people lived.

The US should no longer give our tax money to Israel. It should have stopped long ago when Israel began to sell military secrets to China and began to infiltrate the US and Great Britain with covert operators and lobbyists. Many congressmen secretly don't like them and know the Israeli government is NOT OUR FRIEND!

I can promise you that good American people are horrified and stressed out about the bombings but unbelievably, we are oppressed like many citizens in countries with dictatorships. Our government now operates like they are not a government "of the people and by the people." They don't listen to what Americans say and most citizens want them out as quickly as possible. We pray for the lost lives in Lebanon and that Lebanon is rebuilt and that Israel is prosecuted in the World Court as the criminal country that it is. Israel has demonstrated that they do not belong in a world of civilized countries. How can they bomb people like that and sleep at night??? Even good Israelis want their government OUT!!

Hezbollah started the conflict. Hezbollah knew Israel would attack it's rocket launchers. Hezbollah located it's launchers in areas that it knew would cause civilian casualties when Israel attacked them. The question should be: why in the world does Lebanon support Hezbollah? Because Israel wasn't attacking Lebanon. Israel was attacking an armed force IN Lebanon. And Isreal was attacked first. So, if you don't want Israel attacking others, they should stop attacking Israel.

As I recall hezbolla captured three Israeli soldiers, Isreal asked for them back or else.... hezbolla didn't and the war was on, don't you remember that the rockets that hezbolla fired into Isreal killed innocent people also. Yes I don't want innocent civilians killed on neither side why can't everyone stop the killing not just Isreal and America?
