First time I was pregnant we told everyone right away and I miscarried at 12 weeks. This time we waited until after I had my first songram at 9 1/2 weeks and saw a heartbeat.

I think it depends if your scared or happy. If you know your family will be happy for you, your gonna wanna tell them right away. Its more likely girls who are scared of how their friends/family will react are the ones who will wait a longer time before spilling the beans. I just found out my friend is a month along. She was scared because she's only 17 years old and afraid of what I would say. Good luck if your planning to tell your friends/family.

Good grief, I dont remember. I think we waited a couple of months because a pregnancy can end quite easily within that period.

What I do remember is that with my third child, the only pregnancy that was actually PLANNED, everyone gave us crap. Here we were, a family making a good living, owned our own house, paid our own bills, and family and friends acted like we were doing something wrong by having a third child. Crazy. It finally got to where I was saying "By the way, this is good news to US" before I told them I was pregnant.

People can be so weird sometimes.

Good luck and Goddess Bless!

I agree with crazygoddess, the same thing happened to me with the news of our third child. It amazes me how people are willing to automatically accept a pregnancy if it is accidental, but the moment you indicate that it was planned, they act like you are insane. Most people asked if I was crazy, some asked if I had figured out what caused that yet, my mom just said I better go ahead and plan on not asking her to babysit ever, like i ever did to begin with. Anyway, people are assholes, if they are not criticizing one thing it's another. If they didn't mention me having a third kid, they mentioned how big I was going to be by nine months from still carrying a little extra weight from the second. I'm 5'5 inches tall and 140 pounds at four months pregnant, I really didn't think I was doing so bad, but apparently I look fat to people. LOL. People are *****.

ha ha, well when i got pregnant with my daughter i went to see the midwife and was given a date of 30th July 2004. i was so excited i wanted to tell every one. so i called my best mate and told her, i told my dad and step mom, then 1 day i got a call off my mom asking me if i was avoiding her, and she wanted to no if the reason was because i was pregnant. I told her not to be silly and carried on with every day life. Then i received a call from my nan who told me that she was too young to be a great granny. so i didn't tell her either. Then on the 28th July i went to tescos to do my shopping, (as a bord pregnant woman does)! as i walked into the shop my mother was standing there with my grandad, even then (as BIG as a house) i told her i was not pregnant. but then i cracked thinking the worst would happen. So she asked me when i was due so i told her 2 days, i thought she was going to kill me there and then!! But she didn't (as I'm typing this message) well any way now that my daughter is here my whole family love her, so no mater when you tell them once your baby is here they wont be able to say any thing apart from congratulations. xx

I waited about 9 or 10 weeks, but told a select few close friends. It was hard because I was excited, but also kinda neat to have that little secret to yourself, plus, if anything were to happen, at least you don't have tons of people to expain the story too.

I waited until after the firt trimester. By then, you feel more confident that everything will be OK. Miscarriages usually occur in the first trimester, so I think many people wait until that time passes.

If you can, keep it in until you have been cked by a dr. to make sure everything is ok. I know it will be hard though b/c you want to tell everyone you come in contact with. Congratulations and Good Luck!
