Damned expensive to keep on the road! Too many were bought by "nouveau riche" empty nesters with a ton of cash from the sale of a house and no clue as to how expensive they are to keep running.

1) The 430 is a new car, and probably had some warranty issues that people got tired of fixing;
2) The F1 paddleshifter gearbox is very foreign and sometimes had to get used to (though out of six or seven Ferrari owners I talked to at one event, only one had a complaint about it);
3) The major services (such as the 30k mile/5 year timing belt replacement) are VERY expensive, to the tune of nearly $1,500 in parts alone;
4) Supercars or no, the roads on which you can really see a Ferrari's breath-taking sound and performance at speed are few and far between (the annoying "no fun to drive in traffic" factor);
5) The "new" shine of the cars is finally wearing off, and the noveau riche without proper driver's training are finally beginning to comprehend a Ferrari is too much machine for them.
These are just a few of the reasons. Others vary according to the owner; sometimes the cars have been leased, and the lease has come to a close, or the economy dealt the owner's pocketbook a killing blow--things like that.
As far as I know, the new cars are good and solid--excellent cars to carry on the Ferrari name. Novitec has come out with tuning kits that are bound to make their performance more exciting, and I'm betting we'll see interest come back up, now that the poseurs are being weeded out.

Wealthy people dont like to keep them that long. They drive them for a while then get a new one. Hey, they have the money. Why not? I would
