is it someone you know or a complete stranger? of course like the other answers said, you should block their number and screen calls for a few weeks until they get the message that they cannot get through to you even if they call from a different line. caller ID was mentioned above, that is helpful only if they call from their own phone, otherwise you may need to change your phone number to an unlisted one to be totally rid of them.
Getting a harrassment/restraining order is a legal process and would also cost a fee to file.....where I live it is 256 dollars to file for a court order, so you may wish to try the phone ideas before putting a court order into the mix.

Have your phone company block their number...Problem solved.

If they call from different numbers and you know who it is, buy a phone recorder...Answer the phone "This converstaion is being recorded, Hello...." Then if they keep calling get the recordings plus your phone records and take it to your local police station and see what they can do to help. Chances are, if you know where this person is at they will pay them a visit and tell them to cool it. If they still keep calling, you may be able to have them arrested....Maybe.

Now if its a bill collector...You're S.O.L.

YES

Try to buy a CALLER ID.

It will be your new best friend.

There is this telemarketer who keeps calling to my house and I have told her that I am not interested a million of times. Every time I see the # in the Caller ID I ignore it. Someday she will get tired.

Not unless they threaten you. If they're a collection agency, there is a specific federal law (Telecommunication Act) that places some limits on when and how often they can call.

Depends on the state. Some states have harrassing phone call statutes.

You bet it is harassment. Tell them if they keep it up, call the police and the telephone company.

Yes.

You can block their number, OR, you can report them to your phone company, who can help you build a case against them, if you want to take them to court.

My suggestion, just block them.

If you don't know how, the directions are in the front of your phone book.

Yes, it is. File a complaint against them with the police for documentation.
