The answer is of course "nothing".
However I think it is suppose to make you think about God and the way rich and poor interact in this society, it is suppose to make you think of power struggles whether that involves money or not.

The that fact that each question is stated and alludes to peoples powers and fears is wrong.

I think love and caring for someone is greater than God.
I don't think the Devil has nothing, look at all the misery he causes in the world, starvation, war, famine, the evil people that walk the planet such as the 9/11 terrorists, to name but a few the Devil is happy terrorising and causing people heartache and misery. In my book if someone is happy they have something

The poor may not have nothing in a monetary sense but they have their life and that is better than nothing! And who said money is everything, like I said the devil can be happy with misery.

I think stating that the the rich need it is also wrong as some people have worked really hard to get to where they want to be, why would they want to trade a life times worth of labour and assuming they are educated to get to where they want to go?! Only to want for nothing.

In the society we live in it would be impossible to try and not to eat nothing even anorexics eat a little bit of food. You can't walk the street without passing somewhere to eat. I suppose I won't include places like Ethiopia in that thought, but like I said that is the Devils work and it is different in a westernised culture!!

The fact that 80%of kindergarrten kids answered "nothing" reflects their innocence. Or the fact that I have turned this riddle on its head reflects my naivety, or is it the fact that I stated the purpose of such a riddle is to get you thinking, perhaps indeed my answer shows that it has served its purposes 100%.

Everyones is right, the young children got it because they think in a more direct way. Senior students (especially the arrogant ones) always try and find some witty, scientific answer to things without looking at the simple solution.

As with all riddles, they are easy if you know the answer. IE you've heard it before, and BEEN TOLD the answer.

I know there used to be an advert that said "Nothing acts faster than anadin". I thought it would be pretty bad for business if the people actually believed it.
