My son has a music project for school and their group has chosen Green Day, but, of course, anyone who knows their music will also know that a lot of the songs have the "f" word and the teacher will not allow them. Is there somewhere to find these songs in their censored state?

A note to Zeebya, I could give a flying f--- whether my son listens to songs with profanity in them. These are not my rules, but rather the TEACHER'S. I'm not about to try and change the politics of the school system.

And I also don't think the Insane Clown Posse or Marilyn Manson cause kids to commit MURDER. If I had such strong feelings about my kids listening to different types of music, I would make them listen to Christian Rock. I don't see how music or video games for that matter make people do stupid things - people do stupid things.

I was simply trying to find information for a school project. If you want to vent about our rights, why don't you check the political questions and not music. They might appreciate your lectures.

It's so heart-warming to know that, here in America, we are teaching our kids the art of censorship! I'm sure Stalin's spirit will be very proud.
Which "F" word are you talking about? Fractuous? Fundamentalism? How about Freedom? Or are you not adult enough to actually use the work ****? Oh, look! They censored my use of the word! Do you even KNOW the origins of the word? Fornicate Under Command (or Consent) of the King?
Although I too often find the abuse of profanity distasteful in modern music, I nevertheless believe totally in the right of the artist to use it without it's being censored or exploited by people who would censor it.
There are TONS of other good songs you could use that contain NO profanity and would probably do just as well, if not better.
If you really think teaching censorship to your kid is a good thing, you need to leave America. Too many good people have DIED for our right to Freedom of Speech to allow people to think like you do.

A NOTE to Buggers - I apologize for sounding like I'm lambasting you. Censorship is a sore point with me. I meant no offense. But, since you say you don't feel it's your job to change the politics of the school system, I have to say in some respects IT IS your job. I went to both public and private schools, but they didn't teach me nearly as much as my mother, uncle, and other respected loved ones. And there were times when my mother had to intervene in order to prevent my school from doing something that was wrong. Parents are solely responsible for their children's education, not schools.
And, as to your comments about how music such as Marilyn Manson has no influence on children, I have to say that assumption is incorrect. Almost ALL modern music that falls within a certain beat structure or time signature in fact DOES have a subtle, sometimes powerful effect on the psyche through a phenomena called "sonic driving." This principal is heavily tapped in shamanic practices, as it alters one's consciousness in the same manner as mood-altering drugs. Peruvian Whistling Vessels; Shamanic drumming; Tibetan singing bell bowls; and rock music ALL have the same psychoacoustic effects on the listener. If that's a young person, who is still discovering themselves, this can have a VERY strong influence. Many video games have the same effect, as they are often underscored with a music track that uses a driving beat.
But don't take my word for it. Check out Psychoacoustics on the web. You may be surprised.

Just about any of the sights will have clean versions of songs. Some albums might not have clean versions. You should be able to find them through the usual purchasing sites, also Wal-Mart is known for their clean versions of things, you might want to look there.

Download the songs from itunes or napster, you can usually get a choice of clean or explicit.... it will tell you it is explicit if it has the "f" word anywhere in the song... thats my best advice, and two easy to use downloading programs.
