There are 22 kids in my son's kindergarten class and I'm wondering how that ratio compares to others. There are two teachers and the class is full day.

I teach K and I started out with 20 kids this year (the legal limit in my state). I ma down to 18 now. 15 or 16 is really the most one teacher should have alone in K. Any more than that is really too much to handle at that young of an age. Especially at the beginning of the year. But, who am I to decide that. That is excellent if your child has 2 teachers all day and 22 kids.

There are three classes per grade, about 18 kids per class. One aid for all three classes and one teacher per class. The kids do a lot of grade-wide activites so they can make friends outside of their class, though. It's full day too.
