The loud, obnoxious ones are the ones you hear about. Most of us are minding our own business. The Americans you talk about do not represent the country as a whole.

Classic example of why longer questions are warranted. But most complain about long questions yet lack capacity to extrapolate the whole question from one line. Or they try to duck, doge, and hide from the question by dismissing it as dumb, stupid etc. In short Americans are so full of themselves because they have nearly everything and they flaunt it. as to say because of all this I am so great. Because for so long, most other nations never opposed it. What ever Uncle Sam wanted he mostly gotten. Give a 5 yr old 95% of what he ask for and see how humble he will be. He will get in his mind that he is entitled to have it, even at the suffering of others. And trying to ride the old accomplishments of WWII, like trying to stand on your high school GPA when you are trying to get a job in your 30s. Look at the here and now. Domestic spying, secret gulags, prisoner torture... At is was said "As king I can be feared or loved. I'd rather be feared" Caligula. When you are at the top of the heap. You do not want to look down, less the crown fall from your head.

I believe that more Americans are full of themselves than any other people. I, myself am an American, but I still say that Americans need to GET A GRIP!!! People are full of themselves in America because they can have anything they need. I (hopefully) am not full of myself.... If I am, please tell me because I don't want to be that way.... It disturbs me that my people are full of themselves, but its something I have to live with... You cant have the good without the bad.

I think it's similar to people who go to private school...they are just brought up with an inate confidence. However it's not all of them of course (but it is a character trait that I noticed a lot when working in a tourist venue in Canada - all of the nationalities showed a lot of their stereotypes to be true)

i think they seem like that collectively but when you get chatting with them as an individual they`re a lot nicer i go on a lot of games sites and ive talked to loads of them and most wasn't full of themselves at all

Because we saved Europe from Hitler and we saved the world from the USSR. Unfortunately, a lot of Europeans seem to forget that fact. Especially the younger ones.

Mid west fundamentalist christians are as scary as muslim fundamentalist if not worse.And theres loads of them brain washed Americans believing some scary boll**KS.
So there full of it cos they think there superior which I suppose their fire power is!

Give them a break, they are our ALLIES and we are at war with Islam. They might not be perfect BUT we have a lot in common with them.
They just talk a little loud, that's all. It's a cultural thing.
