If you do owe debt, always pay off the higher interest rates first. Another answer had this mentioned above. You'll want to pay down those balances first as the higher the interest rate, the less amount gets applied to the principal.

After you get done reading this cancel your internet and television for a few months or more if you have too.The only bills you need to keep current right now are rent electric car health and auto insurance all the others should be secondary. This will not be fun or easy but if you have a storage shed get every thing out of it this will save you money, next have a yard sale to get rid of some of your stuff, this will raise capital that you can use for debt reduction.Next how old is your car if it is old get rid of it it is costing a fortune for repairs and is not efficient. If it is rather new then use some of those proceeds from yard sale to pay it off as fast as you can this will free up cash each month.Get a part time job at night or weekend some where. If you are working you wont miss the tv.and if you have kids they can watch vcr or dvd.Clip coupons and no eating out.Pay your bills as soon as you get them so that there will be no late charges.Open A christmas club and put five dollars a week in it then next year when you get the money use it for more debt reduction. No more gambling that means NO LOTTERY TICKETS NONE.I told you this will not be fun but it is worth it stay strong you can do it .

get a 2nd job and then pay all your bills in this order: The bill with the highest interest rate first not by how much each debt is. So if you have 5 debts this is what it should look like:
Credit card # 1 24%
Credit card #2 18%
Credit card #3 9%
Car loan 8%
House 6%
The only exception is the house always put that as the last one to pay off. Then with all the money your are not paying towards credit cards and car payments put that money towards the house and keep accurate records.

Im currently going through same thing.

If possible, get a 2nd job, generate more cash flow, for a spell, just until you are able to handle bills on doable level again.
Or look for higher paying job. Ding. Ding.

Just note that debt agencies that help you, charge a fee, and usually require it UPFONT.

And that some payment plans, arranged with creditors may require to close your account, you might not want to do that.

Do what we did. NO MORE Mortgage is a great company. They helped get us out of debt. You don't pay anymore than you are paying now. If you have a mortgage and at least $10,000 in other debt then we may be able to help you. I am a rep for the company now so I know it works. admin@Nodebt4U.org

try this estimate how much you make monthly.....Then try deducting your monthly financial expenses if there is enough set appart personal monthly expensives. and what ever you are left with is what you should split up in bills ....
remember never exceed your limits, you can only use up 30 % of your credit card limit this will improve fico scores.
also never cancel credit cards this will drop your fico scores and mees up your credit instead just leave it open but dont use it and never have more than 5 credit cards open......this should help.

Fill for bankruptcy or consolidate your loans. There is no easy way out of this except to pay what you owe.

Do borrow so much next time around!
