1848 was a watershed year in European politics and history. There were revolutions in many countries. After Napolean Bonaparte was defeated, the major European powers held The Congress of Vienna in 1815 to determine the "new world order" of the time.

"From 1848 to 1852, Europe was convulsed by a series of Revolutions which all ultimately failed by 1852 with the restoration of either dictatorship or the reestablishment of conservative rule."

"The European Revolutions of 1848 were a revolutionary wave which soon spread to the rest of Europe. These European Revolutions were the violent consequences of a variety of changes that had been taking place in Europe in the first half of the 19th century (1815-1830). In politics, both bourgeois reformers and radical politicians were seeking change in their nations' governments. In society, technological change was creating new ways of life for the working classes, a popular press extended political awareness, and new values and ideas such as liberalism, nationalism and socialism began to spring up."

"Although the revolutions were put down quickly, tens of thousands were tortured and killed. Although the immediate effects of the revolutions were short-term, there were lasting legacies."

"Germany & Italy each became united countries at last."

"Ten years after the 1848 Revolutions, little had visibly changed, and many historians consider the revolutions a bloody failure."

From all of that, I would have to choose "B" as the best answer.

I would have to say C, all countries were impacted by the differnt "isms" that were of interest to the people.

The web page lists how each ism had an impact on different countries-how they led to reform, war, etc.....
