The bible says, the intents of a mans heart is evil from his youth (Gen 8:21). Being a christian is to try to be as christ, selfless. As we all know babies are all about "Me." I'm not bashing babies, but that's how they are, I'm hungry , I'm wet, I'm tired, I want attention. Selfish Knows no age limit, it is something that we inherited, from our fathers. Sin is passed down through the seed of the father. (This is why Christ was sinnless, perfect, because His daddy was God.) Question, Have you ever known a child who's parents sat him down and said "ok johny, today we're going to learn to, back talk, throw a tantrum, tell mommy & daddy no, and sneak behind our backs to steal cookies, and break things. But the main thing we're going to concentrate on, is to bold face lie about it all." These are not traits that are learned but inherited. These are things They do, not knowing it's wrong, therefore God set into law the age of accountability, a time in which they can choose right and wrong. Just as Adam & Eve did. Sorry I gave you all facts, but it's my opinion that the bible is flawless.

They are born innocent,
The words good or evil implies religion.
Most religions say that we are born INTO sin.
which means as we grow up we are going to do sinful things.
I personally do not consider sin to be necessarily "evil"
a chainsaw murderer is "evil", a kid who swipes a piece of bubblegum isn't, BUT it is evil in the world that gives him the idea to do it....

religiously speaking people are born with the sin carried for ages by Adam and Eve. after the baby is Christianized ( baptized ) he has the Holy spirit in him and he is now good.

Ok the nature nurture debate. I believe that it is the environment that a person is brought up in that dictates whether he/she will be good or evil.
