They say it's to protect the other person from getting hurt...but lying only hurts that person more in the end doesn't it? What's your theory? Do you lie to your loved ones?

I hate lying and liars. It takes too much energy to lie just be honest, it is so much easier. But in general some lying is okay, like little 'white lies'. Like when your bf cooks you dinner and it tastes like sh!t, and you say, 'Mmm..that is really good hun,' so that you don't hurt someones feelings is probably the only way that I would lie.

there are many reasons why people lie. Every situation that a lie is told is different and unique. I think that it is important to be truthful at all times.But the reality is that people are not always ready for the truth and quite frankly, the truth can hurt. Do we really want to know if our spouse/partners have ever cheated on us? do want to know how people really feel about us all the time? the answers are no b/c we would be hurt if we knew the truth

depends on the lie. If you are telling someone they look ok after an accident that lie would be ok. If someone is going to kill a friend and asked you where he is and you lied to protect the person that's a good lie. Tell us what the lie is so we can tell you if it is a good or bad lie.

i have lied to my boyfriend... but he really loves me so i'm still with him thank God. and my theory would be that you only lie to make things better for yourself... people wanna know things like that no matter how much they hurt, they need to know. lieing makes it worse in the end but we all do it.

I know a guy who lies just to hear his own voice...he will answer the phone and go on for a half hour spinning lies and senarios to people who don't even matter anyway.
I don't think he knows what the truth really is!

nope i try to reword things so feelings they dont sound as bad but i dont lie when asked for opinions

To get out of trouble or to avoid conflict but if someone found out you lied it would cause more conflict!!!

I despise lies!! I think it makes the other person feel as tho they got away with something or make themselves feel better.

because there scared of the turth so they live a life of lies or they just think you would be mad or upset or something if you told them
