Write each product using an exponent - this means exactly what it says. On the example provided: 8*8*8 = 8^3

Find the value of the power - this means to actually multiply out the product - which is what you did. i.e. 8*8*8=512

all of these answers say the same thing, just in a different way. The value of the power is 3, meaning that 8 is multiplied by 8, 3 times. the answer is 8 with a small number 3 in the right upper hand corner next to the 8.

What you do is count how many 8's you have, then put down a number 8, and after that you take the number of 8's which is 3 and place it on the right side of the 8, but don't make it the size of the 8, make it small, and put it at the top.

well dear i would give 2 formulas that u can use and solve the other question like that easily after that.

if you have;
(a ^n ) * ( a^m) * (a ^ p ) the result would be ; a ^ ( n+m+p )
for example ;
(5 ^ 3 ) * (5^10) * (5^ 4) = 5^( 3+10+4) = 5^ 15

if you have
(a^n ) * ( b^n) * (c^ n) = (a*b*c)^n
(5^2) * ( 3^2) * ( 6^2) = (5*3*6)^2 = 90^2
_____________________
now your question ,
8 * 8 * 8 = 8^(1+1+1) = 8 ^ 3
8 ^ 3 it means you should multiply 8 , three times .
8 * 8 = 64
64* 8 = 512.

I tried my best to explain for you clearly , Hope it could help you

Good Luck.

the power for that problem is 3
8*8*8 is the same as 8^3
the three is writen a a super script
smaller that the 8 and above and to the right of the 8
powers are used to indicate multiplying a number by itself a certain number of times the number of times is the exponent

8*8*8 would be 8 to the third power

writing it exponentialy would be 8^3 (8 with a little 3 at the top right corner)

you just count the number of times the number is repeated, and it would be to that power

ex:4*4*4*4*4*4*4 would be 4 to the 7th power or 4^7 (4 with a little 7 at the top right corner)

8*8*8=8^3 because 8 is multiplied by itself 3 times. If, instead you had something like 4*4*4*4*4 the answer would be 4^5 because 4 is multiplied by itself 5 times.

8 * 8 * 8 = 8 to the third power (8 with a little 3 on the top right side)

www.webmath.com

the power is 8 to the 3, the 3 is written small and above to the right of the 8. It is the number of times you multiply 8 to its self.

the value of the power of 4x4x4x4x4 would be 5
