I think its stupid to think you can have reverse racism because of something that happened 150 years ago. Racism is wrong no matter what color your skin is. No offence, but there is not a black person alive today that went through slavery. I would just like them to stop acting like they did. Of course there is racism in the world today, but accept the fact that it is nothing like 1850. I am tired of everything being racist if something is not in a black mans favor. REAL CASE: I told someone I could not accept their card because it was not the same name on their D.L, "Yea I bet you would if I were white", and I catch two black girls trying to take money from a 12 year old white boy, , I stop them and they claim to the police that I was just being racist because I was keeping an eye on them when it happened. STOP PLAYING THE RACE CARD!. What does everyone else think, about anything to do with the issue. NO " WHITE PEROPLE DESERVE IT, OR WE DESERVE SPECIAL TREATMENT BECAUSE OF SLAVERY"

Blacks still promote the slavery card because it gets them a free hand out.The same as the jews still cling to the 6 million holocaust figure because of money.I can agree with you.Blacks need to get over the whole slavery deal. They were freed over 200 years ago.Stop useing your ancestors to get a free ride.Get off your asses and support your family.Be a man don't be a pimp.

Racist or not ,it is the truth.

I felt the same way you do for a long time and then my friend's boyfriend who happened to be black and one of the nicest, kindest, gentle people was accused of being a drug dealer by a bartender at Ruby Tuesday's. He was searched and handcuffed and then the police got a search warrant for his vehicle. All this because he was with several of his friends and they made some cell phone calls. I think that the bartender saw that they were black, in a group and using cell phones and assumed that they must be drug dealers. I realized that racism was still alive and well in my small town. I boycotted that Ruby Tuesday's for a whole year.

While racism is still around, I feel that it's silly to go on about how anyone deserves special treatment because there were slaves. I suppose that the Irish-Americans or the Italian Americans would need special treatment for their troubles at the beginning of last century. History is not always nice but it is history.

I think you're right mate. I'm a white man married to a black woman and she is really irritated when some black people blame any hiccup in their lives upon something that happened 150 years ago. There have been many forms of slavery practised by all races (Romans, Greeks, Arabs inter alia) but you don't hear their victims excusing their own failings by blaming everyone else for their problems. No-one should racially slur anyone. Shave off the skin and we're all the same underneath, and we all have to share this planet. We only get 75 years or so each of life, so we should try not to spend them squabbling over trivialities. Red blue and orange Smarties all look different. But they are still smarties, and they still taste the same. (That's if they sell them where you are, of course!!)

White Person Cracker

Blah, blah, blah, this topic gets old after a while. You could call a black person anything you want. Now, you may get your butt kicked in the process.

I don't know any blacks who call white people any names or bully them. Plus, what are you watching? I haven't heard the terms "cracker," "honky" or "whitey" since the seventies when the white writers of the Jeffersons had George Jefferson saying that.

Black people have every right to feel angry about what happened to our ancestors.

9/11 was 5 years ago and the majority of Americans didn't have family members or friends die or lose their jobs because of that unfortunate event. However, people keep bringing that up and feel that retribution should be paid.

Cracker has no histrical significance.

It was not used as degrating word that was yelled to people who lived and died for the profits of their master, as they worked on the fields and were whipped with cat of 9 tails.

****** was.

All racial words of any sort should be eliminated from any humans vocabulary who claims to be civilized in the 21st century.

You will always encounter matters of race, where people will accuse you of being racist, and also where you will see other people being racist.

All you have to do is your job as a human being. Stand tall, tell the truth, stand for truth, and don't let anybody push anybody around because of their race (as long as it does not endanger anyone's life)

One must accept reality for what it is and walk humbley with the misunderstood, the unintelligent, the misled and weak, in hopes of one day showing them by your actions. As any other reaction besides kindness, peace and an attempt for understanding, will only create a snowball affect of continued misunderstanding and anger.

OK I've seen it said in a few answers now. no my family did not have to go through being a slave and all the evils that went with it. but my family was from the north and alot of them died to give black people the chance at freedom and to now live the American dream now. so should i be allowed to walk around over a hundred years later and say all blacks owe my family even if they weren't in America at the time of slavery?

Well not everyone thinks this way because I'm black and I do believe that some people shouldn't act the way they do because racism is racism no matter what your skin color is maybe one day people will realize this but until then we just gotta deal with it.

ok so maybe some black people play the race card too much but we can't totally disregard the fact of slavery! it did happen and my black people died and suffered. be compassionate and empathetic for the many people that were separated from their families and loved ones. it was a bad and cruel thing that happened. telling a black person to get over slavery is like telling a Jewish person to get over the Holocaust!!!
