Voters wished 60% secure and 40% no need. The bush govt, responded to the 60% by sending the national gaurd to the border, they are building high tech security systems and are stepping up security. THe one above me is right

the system may be soaked with money but most of it goes back to the states or to the defense of the nation. George is afraid of the Hispanic voters. He'd rather wait until the individual speaks up and gets off their fat butts and for them to take action locally. So if you want the borders closed start at home and push the local cops to pick up and detain the illegals.

The U.S. gov't is not nearly as corrupt. What people don't realize is that there is a 4th check/balance on the gov't - THE PEOPLE! We Americans don't pay enough attention to what's going on in our country to speak out when we're being hoodwinked. During Bush's 1st term congress passed a bill that made it legal to tax email.

Did you speak out? Did you even know that that's legal? For obvious reasons though it hasn't been implimented. I spoke out, but no one else had a clue at the time.

The Dubais ports deal failed because people spoke out, but Americans just don't get angry enough to make a stand like that often enough.

As corrupt as any other in the world?

No, not by a long shot. They ARE lying scoundrels, but many other countries have them beat by a mile.

So what?! Take your choice, our corrupt government or that of another country.

And if you think its only Bush, well...You have a lot of learning to do. They are ALL the same. The only difference is, the Dems will tax you to death and do nothing while the Repubs do it with little tax.

The system is not corrupt, the people are. if we applied the system we'd be seeing everyone who's in office behind bars .

Even our vote doesn't do a whole lot of good. We vote for president, but who really decides? The electoral college. Feeling helpless when trying to improve your country sucks.
