Dilation and cutterage. They dont put u to sleep, but give you drugs like valium, demerol, so u arent in any pain, and they dilate your cervix, and scrape out any gunk inside. It is usually done after a woman has a baby or miscarriage. i have had two.

A D & C is a procedure that the Gynecologist will clean out your inner uterine walls by scraping all of its cells out with a surgical tool so that a newly layer of endometrium (inner lining of uterus) can grow. This is used to treat blood clots and messy menses. A D & C can be used in an abortion.

They use an instrument and go up and scrap around your uterus. Some people have this done if they haven't had periods in months. Leaving the excess lining can potentially cause cancer.
